Simon Difford has been involved in most aspects of the drinks industry from running his own off license and wholesale company to importing spirits and brand creation, but is best known as a drinks writer and publisher. Simon founded CLASS Magazine in 1997, a title that became the leading UK style bar title before he sold it to William Reed Publishing to prepare for the launch of his range of diffordsguide drinks related books in 2001. The best known of these, ‘diffordsguide – Cocktails’, is about to celebrate its 10th edition with 3,000 colour-illustrated recipes and is widely regarded as the authoritative international cocktail publication in print and now also online.

Simon worked and managed pubs and bars across the UK for many years before moving over to the publishing side. 6 years were spent in Australia & New Zealand working on the leading publication Australian Bartender Magazine as well as Sydney Bar Show and Bar Awards. 5 years ago BarLifeUK was started with Andy Ives as an on-line voice for UK bartenders giving them the latest news, event and competition information as well as editorial pieces on the industry as a whole. Nominations for Best Cocktail Writing at the Tales of the Cocktail Spirited Awards have followed every year as has the support of the entire of the UK bar industry.

Luisa has been working in the spirit industry for more than 10 years. She moved from Venezuela to London in 2001 and shortly after joined the London bar scene. She worked in bars, such as Apartment 195, Hakkasan Hanway Place and the Purple Bar at the Sanderson Hotel, before moving on to work with the creative team at Inspirit Brands, representing several prestigious brands such as Ketel One, Buffalo Trace, and El Dorado Rum. In 2008 she moved to India to undertake brand development projects for Dewar’s Whisky, were she spent 4 years travelling across the country conducting whisky tasting session for the brand. It has been 3 years since she joined the team at Eaux de Vie by Marussia Beverages were she works as Brands Development Manager for the diverse and exciting spirit portfolio of Eaux de Vie.

Jérôme is a famous French Michelin-starred chef and co-owner of the French restaurant La Colline in Moscow. He knows the ins and outs of culinary traditions from all around the world and since moving to Russia has embraced the locals gourmands’ appetite for seafood. He enjoys revisiting secret family recipes and integrating them with today’s culinary trends. Furthermore, Jérôme previously worked as a private chef for the Royal Family of Morocco and is specifically known to be the favorite chef of the Prince of the dynasty.
